Insurance company sending their typical low-ball estimate from a preferred contractor they sent out to your customers home working 30% below Xactimate pricing?
The number one complaint we hear from our customers is that they send work off to a public adjuster and never hear back.
We love public adjusters; half our team holds or has held a PA license and we work with them daily.
Are they the right tool for every claim?
Denials, coverage disputes, bad faith engineer reports, consider a PA or attorney.
Amitigations is not a law firm or offering Public Insurance Adjusting and is not providing or offering to provide any legal advice or public adjusting services to its customers. As such, nothing you may read on this website or in any of our other materials should be construed as a promise to negotiate your claim. The information and services provided by Amitigations are estimating, appraisal, and umpire services for industry professionals.
Please be aware appraisal is not a magic wand. If you have legitimate damage and a low carrier estimate it may be a good fit.
Please be aware your client must turn an accurate demand estimate in before they can invoke appraisal. This is a critical first step and cannot be done by your appraiser.
Make sure you understand where a contractor can discuss cost of repair and when you would be practicing unlicensed adjusting. If we are supplementing for you, we must follow the same rules.
The Texas DOI put out a great FAQ that clearly shows you where you can and can not engage the carrier.
